Dr. Asma Perveen

Dr. Asma Perveen earned her PhD from National University of Singapore (NUS) under Mechanical Engineering Department in the year of 2012. After completion of her PhD, she worked as Research Scientist at Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) for more than two years. Prior to joining Department of Mechanical Engineering, Nazarbayev University. Her Research area includes Non-conventional Machining processes, Laser micromachining, Electro discharge machining (EDM), Block EDM, Magnetorheological Finishing (MRF), External & Internal Surface finishing, Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM), Electrospinning Texturing, Tribology Conventional Grinding, Intermittent Grinding.

Professor. Esther Akinlabi

Professor Esther Akinlabi is a Full Professor and currently serves as the Vice Dean for Teaching and Learning, Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Her research interest is in the field of modern and advanced manufacturing processes – Friction stir welding and additive manufacturing. Her research in the field of laser based additive manufacturing include laser material processing and surface engineering. She is also interested in research in the field of renewable energy, and also conducts research in biogas production. She is a rated National Research Foundation (NRF) researcher and has demonstrated excellence in all fields of endeavors. Her mentorship and research experience is enviable as she guides her team of postgraduate students through the research journey. She is a recipient of several research grants and has received many awards of recognition to her credit. She is a member of the South African Young Academy of Science and registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa. Prof Akinlabi has filed two patents, edited one book which is being launched today, published two books and authored/co-authored over 200 peer reviewed publications.

Dr Venkateswarlu K

Title of Talk:Advances in aerospace sector-role of material science
Dr Venkateswarlu K presently working as a Senior Principal Scientist at CSIR - National Aerospace Laboratories Bangalore. He received his MTech from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology and PhD from IIT Kharagpur India. His expertise includes material processing, Al alloys and composites, severe plastic deformation, tribology and mechanical behaviour of materials and alloys. He guided 8 PhD students from various universities. He published 155 research articles in various national and international reputed journals. He is life member of Indian Institute of Metals and a fellow of Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences,INSA New Delhi, Institution of Engineers (India).
